The Houston Public Library’s Healthy L.I.F.E. is the recipient of the Urban Libraries Council 2014 Top Innovator Award for Health, Wellness and Public Safety for its innovation in partnering to advance community health priorities, addressing access to health care and promoting critical health outcomes and providing resources for underserved populations.
The European innovation partnership on active and healthy ageing is a pilot scheme that aims — by 2020 — to increase the average healthy lifespan of EU citizens by two years, through: improving health and quality of life; ensuring health and social care systems are sustainable and efficient; and creating growth and market opportunities for business.
I always wanted to know if there were others like me. I definitely know the difference between fantasy and reality but I do have a fantasy family which is everything I have always wanted to be. They give me comfort and provide me with strength to be the person I want to be. I have so many complex characters in my fantasy life but I understand completely they are a fantasy.
In the second part of this publication, the following analysis allows us to assess the scale of inequality in healthy life expectancy (HLE) by national deciles of deprivation produced by clustering lower super output areas (LSOAs) by the English Index of Multiple Deprivation 2010 (IMD 2010) This will add context to the HLE estimates by UTLA and will further allow health organisations to make informed decisions regarding the allocation of funding and resources.
