Rhona is survived by her younger brother Ken Lemmon (Helen), as well as her many nieces and nephews. Catherine is predeceased by her parents, Catherine McGregor Edgar (Glasgow, Scotland) and Josiah Lemmon (Derby, England), and by her older brothers Edgar and Douglas Lemmon.

Catherine was born in Edmonton and moved with her family to Toronto in 1944. She met her husband, Aubrey, while working at The Fife House in Windermere, ON in the summer of 1951. They were married in June 1955. Catherine was a teacher and taught primary grades until she started her family. She and Aubrey raised their children in the Brampton area. In 1989, Catherine and Aubrey retired to their cottage on Skeleton Lake and spent many happy years together before Aubrey’s passing. Catherine later moved to southern Ontario for medical care and to be closer to her family.

Catherine was an adventurer at heart, once travelling by bus to Mexico City with a girlfriend in the early 1950’s, just for the heck of it. She and Aubrey traveled extensively throughout Mexico, Canada and the U.S., Europe, and Australia and New Zealand. She loved finding unique local art and figurines, collecting many pieces on each of her travels. A diehard Toronto Blue Jays fan, she rarely missed watching a game.
Catherine loved to go fishing. She was an amateur radio operator – call sign VA3 GCJ.

Catherine’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Elden of Bradford Retirement Residence and the Palliative Care Team of Southlake Regional Health Centre for their care and support in Catherine’s final days. As per Catherine’s wishes, a private family celebration of life will be held later this summer.
