She was born in Toledo, Ohio, to Robert and Virginia Hartford Wooley. She was a cook for Flying J and loved making donuts. She was a longtime member of Victory Fellowship Church in North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband, Jerry Hammye; a son, Timothy Hammye; and three brothers, Donnie, Bob and Herschel Wooley.
Survivors include two sons, James (Andrea) Hinckley and Albert Hinckley, both of Cecilia; her daughter, Virginia Johnston of Marshall, North Carolina; three sisters, Jean Ribby of Perrysburg, Ohio, Linda O’Dell of Petoskey, Michigan, and Cheryl Dziengelewshi of Long, South Carolina; three brothers, Ronnie Wooley, Mike Wooley and Bill Wooley, all of Toledo; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life is at 3 p.m. Friday, April 22, at 540 Shipley Road in Cecilia.
