Kenneth “Gary” Bonsall, Jr. Obituary

April 13, 1941 – June 8, 2022

Kenneth “Gary” Bonsall, Jr. of Columbus, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the age of 81. After several months of declining health, Gary died peacefully with his beloved wife Gail and family by his side.

Gary was born in Stratford, NJ on April 13, 1941, to father Kenneth Gary Bonsall, Sr. and mother Anne Louise Bonsall (Schneider). After graduating from Haddonfield Memorial High School, Gary served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. Gary followed in his father’s footsteps and took over the family business of Bonsall Dental Supply serving the dental community of the tri-state area for 37 years. Gary married his wife, Gail, on August 29, 1964. Over the years, they resided in Medford Lakes, Medford, Shamong, and Columbus.

Those who knew Gary, knew that he was not shy about sharing his opinion and that he was proud of his children and grandchildren. The standing joke about Dad was if you couldn’t fix something with one screwdriver, it could not be fixed.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Gail Edna Bonsall (Grillo); children Dr. Todd Gary Bonsall (Dawn), Dr. Dean John Bonsall (Laura), and Bonnie Gail Hope (Bonsall) (Tom); grandchildren Kirstynn Elizabeth Bonsall, Nicole Hannah Hope, Jaxson Todd Bonsall, Leah Carolyn Bonsall, Brittany Gail Hope, and Lindsay Anne Bonsall.

A Visitation for Gary is planned for Saturday, July 30, from 10 AM to 11 AM followed by a memorial service. The visitation/service will be at the Wesley United Methodist Church on 24573 E. Main Street, Columbus, New Jersey. A time of fellowship and lunch will immediately follow. All are invited to attend.

In lieu of sending flowers, the family asks people wishing to honor Gary’s lifelong commitment to family and community to make donations to the Wesley United Methodist Church of Columbus at 24573 E. Main Street, Columbus, NJ 08022. Donations can also be made to the Mansfield Township Ambulance Corps. at 41 Fieldcrest Drive, Columbus, NJ 08022.
