Wolfgang Parker Obituary (2023) – Radcliff, KY

Wolfgang Parker, 69, a selfless, generous and friendly man, passed away Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023, in Radcliff.

Born on May 1, 1954, in Ulm, Germany, Wolfgang lived a life of service and devotion to his family, community and country.

The son of Edward and Brunhilde Parker, Wolfgang carried the values of hard work and generosity throughout his life. A graduate of Fort Knox High School and Murray State University, he dedicated 20 years of his life to the U.S. Army. After retiring from military service, he continued to serve his community as a Realtor for 29 years, a civilian contractor on Fort Knox and for the city of Radcliff before retiring completely to enjoy life.

Wolfgang’s dedication to service extended beyond his work. As an Eagle Scout, he devoted many years to serving as a scout master, instilling in young men the values of honesty, integrity and dedication. His love for his community was evident in everything he did. He was a beacon of kindness and generosity, always ready to lend a hand to those in need.

Wolfgang’s family was the center of his world. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Brunhilde Parker; and his mother-in-law, Hilde Ebert.

Survivors include his loving wife, Brigitte; his daughter, Carina, and her husband, Reggie Gatlin; his son, Edward Parker, and his wife, Kristie; two grandchildren, Madison and Andrew Parker; and his granddogs, Bear and Ellie. He was also a beloved son-in-law to Richard Ebert; and a cherished brother-in-law to Reiner and Sabine Ebert. His niece, Celina Ebert, held a special place in his heart. He was eagerly awaiting the birth of his great-grandson, Colton, due in November.

Wolfgang also leaves behind a dear friend, Erik Lohof, whose friendship enriched his life.

Wolfgang was an amazing husband, father and grandpa. His love for his family was boundless and his selfless spirit touched everyone who knew him. He lived a wonderful life filled with love, laughter and countless moments of joy. His generous nature, friendly demeanor and unwavering commitment to service will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, and continues from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove.

A graveside service with military honors is at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.
