What does the TRICARE Dental Program cover?

It covers:

• Exams, cleanings, fluorides, sealants, and X-rays
• Fillings, including white fillings on back teeth
• Root canals
• Gum surgery
• Oral surgery and tooth extractions
• Crowns and dentures
• Orthodontics and braces
• Scaling and root planning (deep cleaning) for diabetics
• Additional cleaning for pregnant women

What Are the Benefits of the TRICARE Dental Program’s Wellness Program? Are you looking for information about the TRICARE Dental Program? You’re in luck! TRICARE has updated the TDP handbook with the latest information about your benefit. The updated handbook contains information about costs, details about coverage, and more. You can download the TDP handbook on the TRICARE publications page. The TRICARE Dental Program Wellness Program offers extra dental benefits for beneficiaries with certain health considerations. When enrolled, you can get additional dental services to treat gum disease. This includes an additional third cleaning per year. If you have gum disease, diabetes, heart disease, are pregnant, or have another qualifying medical condition, you’re eligible for additional treatment—at no extra cost! How to enroll: Log in to yourMy Account with your DS Logon. Click “Manage My Oral Health.” Add your medical condition under the “Manage My Wellness” tab.
